- For long jobs, such as a report with its spreadsheet and slide deck, use ChatGPT Work in the desktop app (also on the free plan, with limits). For personal matters, open a temporary chat: it is not used for training and is deleted after 30 days.

- Turn off training in Settings > Data controls > “Improve the model for everyone”. Temporary chats are deleted after 30 days. On ad-supported plans, ads may use the conversation context; OpenAI says it does not sell your data.
